Election Commission issues notice to Rajasthan Congress on misleading advertisements

The Election Commission has asked the Congress's Rajasthan unit president to explain two advertisements filed by the BJP. One advertisement claimed a wave in favor of the Congress and was designed to look like a news item, while the other asked people to give missed calls for poll promise benefits. The EC has directed the Congress not to use the same format or content in the interim. The second notice came over an allegation of voter inducement. The BJP had complained that the advertisements were an attempt to give credibility to a political campaign disguised as news.
