Uttar Pradesh schools will now make newspaper reading compulsory for students. A 10-minute slot during morning assembly will be dedicated to reading news, aiming to boost general knowledge, improve vocabulary, and foster critical thinking. This initiative seeks to reduce screen time and cultivate informed, empathetic citizens aware of local and global events.
