Vijay has named his new alliance with Congress and other parties the "Secular Social Justice Victory Alliance". Mayawati stated Akash Anand can return to party roles if his father-in-law quits politics. Philippines defence chief rebuked China over its rejection of the South China Sea arbitration ruling. The Supreme Court mentioned all are treated equally after a plea for an early hearing.
